Pate’s six-year term also begins July 30, 2020. He replaces Edgar Marx whose term expires July 29.

“The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is a vital part of the region’s economic competitiveness,” Mayor Woodfin said. “We are very fortunate to have these committed professionals provide this public service.”

The Birmingham Airport Authority was established in 1986 to manage the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport and continue its growth.
