Knight Ball takes place at four recreation centers on three nights every month for each recreation center. The participation locations include Central Park, Fountain Heights, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Memorial Park. Program participants from the public housing communities are young men between the ages of 18-24. The league enrolls 24 mixed-group teams and up to 144 players represented by young men from twelve public housing communities and local law enforcement officers. A study conducted by Rabois and Haaga (2002) showed results in improved police attitudes toward youth once interacting on the same basketball teams.
