The 13th Annual Gumbo Gala will be held Saturday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sloss Furnaces, 20 – 32nd St. North. More than 60 professional and amateur teams will compete for awards and prizes and the title of Birmingham’s Best Gumbo. Now in its 13th year, Gumbo Gala attracts some of the finest cooks in the region and hosts an elite panel of culinary judges. Attendees may taste as much gumbo as they desire and vote for their favorites. Live music, arts vendors, a Kids Zone and more will be offered. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
