City to hold seminar for those interested in serving on a board or agency

The City of Birmingham has partnered with the Alabama Association of Nonprofits to hold informational orientations to introduce members of the public to the boards and agencies process.

The purpose of these sessions is to inform interested citizens about the functions of boards and agencies, to educate them on the expected ethical responsibilities of board members, as well as highlight a more inclusive and transparent board application process.

The next training session is Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at the Birmingham City Council Chambers, third floor, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  This is a free seminar. Please note: due to the chamber’s capacity, seating will be limited for the session on February 5th. Once the limit has been reached for the first session, a registration wait list will open for future orientations.

Those interested in attending should register at birminghamal.gov/boards-and-agencies.
