HUD CARES Act grant applications now open for Birmingham nonprofit and for-profit organizations

March 4, 2021 (Birmingham, Alabama) – HUD CARES Act grant applications are available now through March 26 at 4 p.m. CST via the City of Birmingham’s Community Development Office.

Community Development will host online information sessions, also known as public hearings will be held on March 12, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. CST. The links for the virtual sessions are included at the bottom of this release.

The grants are:

  • The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV)
  • The Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG-CV)

People who need special assistance (such as translated materials) or a reasonable accommodation to provide comments, should email the City of Birmingham at HousingAndCommunityInfo@birminghamal.gov or Adrienne Stitt at 205-254-2309. Please include, “Request,’’ in the email subject line.
