The Birmingham Urban League and Jefferson County Committee for Economic Opportunity (JCCEO) have been designated administrators of the CARES Household Support Program. The program provides emergency assistance for those who’ve experienced a hard time paying a utility bill or rent because of COVID-19.
To be eligible for the program, people must be able to show they are:
- A Jefferson County resident
- Their housing and utility expenses happened between March 1 and Dec. 30, 2020
- They were financially negatively affected by COVID-19.
