Birmingham Election Commission calls Oct. 8 as election date for ad valorem school taxes, district elections
The Birmingham Election Commission has called Oct. 8, 2019 as the date for a special election to renew ad valorem taxes for Birmingham City Schools. These are not new taxes, but a renewal of taxes currently earmarked for Birmingham City Schools.
In addition, the commission has called special council elections for districts 1, 6 and 7.
Qualifying for the council elections will begin Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Jefferson County Probate Court and conclude on August 23, 2019.
