Add your community events to the Birmingham365 Bicentennial Calendar

As Alabama nears its bicentennial celebration, the Birmingham Bicentennial Committee and Mayor Randall Woodfin want your help in showcasing our city and its story as a uniquely integral part of Alabama’s history.

Residents and groups are encouraged to add their events to the Birmingham365 Community Bicentennial Calendar as well as designate an upcoming event as a “Signature Bicentennial Event.”

Over the course of the next year and a half, the Birmingham Bicentennial Committee is inviting local organizations and groups to help celebrate and promote the Magic City through a cultural, educational, and civic lens. The events will lead up to the Alabama Bicentennial(ALABAMA 200), a three-year celebration of the people, places, and events that form Alabama’s rich history.

Through the various events, activities and initiatives, we aim to teach, inspire and entertain our fellow Alabamians. Current Birmingham Bicentennial Initiatives include a High School Ambassador’s Program, 4th Grade Social Studies Curriculum, and Finding Birmingham – a program through the Birmingham Public Library intended to commemorate, celebrate, and study the history of Birmingham’s ethnic communities.
